You’ll always get my best
Behind every image I take is insight to myself, my vision, the level of effort I put into my work…even my whole identity as a human being.
Reflections on 2025 from a Connecticut Portrait and Food Photographer
25 was the year my job became my passion, which is funny because I’ve been shooting for over a decade. Photographers are generally passionate about their work, and I had some passion as well, but always felt insecure and felt deep down I wasn’t good enough.
September in Bangkok Black Rock
The long awaited arrival of September in Bangkok Black Rock is here and our neighborhood is so lucky. A full redesign of the space formally held by Walrus + Carpenter and Black Rock Social is bright and organic, full of beautiful design elements and plants. For me, enjoying a meal in a beautiful space is as important as the food itself. I was already impressed by the restaurant design, then I tried the food. I had the chicken wings, fried calamari and chicken curry. Banger after banger. Additionally, several of my friends and family has been since I took these photos and echoed how good everything was. They are still waiting on a liquor permit but have some tasty NA drink options still. The avenue just got itself a really incredible Thai restaurant and I hope everyone supports it!
The Image of the Creator
When God designed us in his image, he designed us to be creators. God is the ultimate creator and so we are image bearers with his creative spirit. I believe that is bedrock truth for each one of us, and yet it has only been in the last couple years that I have identified myself as a creative person.
A 15-Minute Headshot…is it possible?
Recently I hosted an “Open Studio” day at our home studio in Bridgeport Connecticut. The idea was to set up a standard lighting scheme that was easily customizable for a variety of images. Need a headshot? No problem. Family Christmas photo? Boom. Images of your fresh baby? Perfection.
